This recipe guides you in preparing a juicy and tender holiday turkey using a brine, with additional tips on cooking times and stuffing to ensure safety and flavor.
Order your halal turkey if you haven't already.
Remove turkey from the brine and allow it to sit for 30 minutes.
Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and flavor it with butter or olive oil, paprika, seasoning salt, and Vegeta seasoning.
Add 2 chicken bouillon cubes and 2 cups of water.
Place turkey in the center of your oven at 325° uncovered.
Bake the turkey for 15 minutes per pound (approximately 4 hours for a 16 pound turkey).
Once the turkey breast is brown, flip it and continue baking backside up to keep it juicy.
Cool down the drippings by adding one cup of cold water to the turkey tray once flipped.
If there are no drippings, add more water as necessary.
Prepare the stuffing about 30 minutes before the turkey is finished cooking.
Stuff the turkey and baste the stuffing with the drippings.
Allow the turkey to cook until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°, then let it rest breast side down for 30 minutes.
